Lorenzo E.,son of Ezekiel and Sarah Swank, was born in Van-Buren county, Iowa, September 1, 1858, and died April 1, 1936, ages 77 years and 7 months. When he was five years old he went to Ohio, where he made his home with his uncle for eleven years. He worked in various communities after that. He finally returned to VanBuren county where he was united in marriage to Margaret Jane Barnett in August, 1880. To this union was born four children, three girls and one boy. The daughters, Pearl, Belle, and Flo, preceded their father in death. He and his family came to Kansas in 1887 and resided here until 1890, when they went to Oklahoma. After two years they returned to Osborne county and made their home in or near Covert. He has been seriously ill for the past three months, but was exceedingly patient in spite of constant suffering.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one son Glen, of Scottsbluff, Nebr,. four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Walllace Swank, Norman, Okla. and Lee Swank, of Cantrill, Iowa.

Furneral services were held at the home on Thursday, April 2, at three o'clock, conducted by Rev. Frank Wagner, and burial was made in the Covert cemeterty.
