Juliet Bryan, daughter of Nicholas and Leanor Bryan was born near Azen, Mo., December 3, 1858 and passed away at 2 a.m. December 1, 1934. At the age of nineteen she was united in marriage to Lyman Abernathy, on January 13, 1878. To this union were born two children, the son, James who passed away October 19, 1921, and the daughter , Mrs. Floyd Smith with whom she has lived the past fourteen years. The husband passed away July 30, 1921.

All her life was spent in and around the old home, with the exception of fourteen years spent in Douglas, County, Washington with her twin brother, Julian who with one sister, Mrs. Sarah Stamper, of Granger, Mo. are the only survivors of a family of fourteen children.

Reared in a Christian home she became a member of Prairie view M.E, Church when quite small and where she held membership until nine years ago when it was transferred to the Cantril M.E. church.

While her sickness was of long duration, she was patient and gentle. Had she lived until Monday, December 3, she would have been 76 years of age.

Funeral services were held at the M.E. church, Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., conducted by her pastor. Rev. F.M. James. Junior and Cleda Wellborn sang "In the Garden," Mrs. J.C. Hall, B.C. Casady, Junior and Cleda Wellborn sang "Will There be Any Stars in My Crown" and "When I come to the End of the Road." pall bearers were W.A. Kisling, W.H. Beaty, Leonard Fritz, Ora Abernathy, Craig and Tom Smith. Burial was in Cantril cemetery
