August 13, 1942

Lee Roy, son of Alice and William McManis, was born April 16, 1881, near Cantril, Iowa and departed this life August 3, 1942, in Bonaparte, Iowa.

Mr. McManis spent his entire life in the vicinty of Cantril, until the last five month's, when Lee's health failed, and with his family moved to Bonaparte.

On December 20, 1931, he was united in marriage to Mary Wireman of Cantril who survives. He is also survived by two daughter's, Mrs. Verlee Morris, daughter from his first marriage, of Hannibal, Mo, and Vada McManis of the home.

Lee was a kind and loving husband and was liked by everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his wife and little Vada who loved him dearly.

Mr. McManis leaves to mourn his loss besides his wife and two daughters, two step-daughters, Mrs. M.W. Roberts of Milton, and Mrs. Eugene Teter of Memphis, Mo, one step-son, Melvin Nichols of Cantril two brothes, Clay of Cantril and Carl of Selma, Iowa, one grandson, Jimmy Morris of Hannibal, Mo and three step-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at Cantril Christian church, with services conducted by Rev. Hadley. Interment at Cantril Cemetery.
