Mrs. Alice McManis, 82, of east of Selma, died at the Ottumwa Hospital Monday, as a result of a hip fracture sustained May 9 when she fell in her room at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl McManis.

She spent all of her life in Van Buren County in and near Cantril and recently divided her time between the homes of her two sons, Carl and Lee of Cantril

Besides these sons she is survived by another son, Clay McManis of Cantril, a sister, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

post-script - Alice Duncan b 14 Apr 1858, Van Buren Co, IA. On 13 Jan 1877, she married William Newton McManis in Milton, Van Buren Co, IA.
Both are buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril, IA.
