MRS. D. J. FITZGERALD

Frances C. Parish, daughter of H. M. and Sarah F. Parish, was born in Clark county, Mo., Dec. 23, 1866. She died at her home in Van Buren county Dec. 26, 1931, aged 65 years and 3 days. She was the seventh in a family of eight children. Those preceding her in death are four brothers and one grandson, Floyd.

She was united in marriage to Delbert J. Fitzgerald Nov. 24, 1889 and was a faithful companion for over 42 years. To this union was born one son, Ray C.

Those left to mourn their loss are her bereaved husband of Mt. Sterling, and son, Ray C. of Melrose Park, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. G. A. Searight of Cantril; two brothers, R. C. Parish of Mt. Sterling, and E. E. Parish of Wapello, Iowa; seven nieces and 21 nephews, and a circle of friends that are numbered by her acquaintance.

She was a natural artist and a great lover of flowers, taking a great interest in working with flowers and beautifying her home which she always put first in her life work.

She was always sympathetic, always putting the pleasure and welfare of others before thinking of her own sacrifice in doing for and helping those in need of help or sympathy.

She was converted and united with the Baptist church when only 12 years old and was a faithful and devoted worker for her Master for nearly 53 years.

Funeral services were held at Story Chapel Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. D. D. Flanagan of Bonaparte.

NOTE: Frances' parents were Hiram M. Parish and Sarah Frances Cackley. Her mother's obituary can be found elsewhere on this forum. I would appreciate any further information on the FITZGERALD family.
