DEATH OF A. J. BUCKLES
Wednesday, April 14, 1909, Abner J. Buckles died at his home in Chequest township of abscess of the liver. He was one of the prominent citizens of Van Buren county. He served during the war as member of Co. H, Nineteenth Iowa Infantry. He was highly esteemed wherever known. His wife and eight children survive. The funeral was from the house Friday, the sermon being by Rev. Springer of Troy, the Masonic order having charge of the services at the grave in the Edmondson cemetery. An obituary will appear next week.
