DEATH OF FORMER CITIZEN

An old time resident of Des Moines township, Sylvester Taylor, died very suddenly at Moravia, N. Y. Jan. 30, 1906. Mr. Taylor for the last few months had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Tuthill of Moravia.

There was a funeral at Moravia on the 30th and Mr. and Mrs. Tuthill attended, but Mr. Taylor was so poorly that they did not think of his going but after they had gone, Mr. Taylor started alone. When he reached the house where the funeral was, the house was full and he with many others sat down on the steps. In less than a minute after he sat down he fell over and died right away.

Mr. Taylor was born at Rochester, Vt., Jan. 25, 1820. He came to Van Buren county in 1850, and finally made his home about three miles southwest of Keosauqua.
