SARAH WALKER BROWN
Sarah Walker was born in York county, Penn., April 1, 1827, and died at the home of her daughter in Cantril, Iowa, July 3, 1914, aged 87 years, 2 months and 2 days.
At her Pennsylvania home she was married to John G. Brown March 23, 1848. After marriage they moved to Winchester, Va., and then to Iowa in 1855, settling at Birmingham. Here the greater part of her active life was spent. She was the mother of nine children, Priscilla Bryant of Vermillion, S.D.; Sadie Anderson, of Lodi, Calif.; Mary E. Jack, of Cantril, Iowa; Asahel W. Brown of Fairfield, Iowa; David W. Brown, of New London, Iowa; Sadie B. Creath, of Cantril, Iowa; and Joseph, Joel, and Milan who died in infancy.
Her husband departed this life Sept. 17, 1874. His body lies at rest in the Birmingham cementry [sic] and Sunday evening at 5 o'clock hers was placed besides his to await the resurrection morning together.
