Craig Beggs, son of Robert and Etta Wilson Beggs, was born March 20,1893 near Pittsburg and departed this life March 31,1974 at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 81. Most of his life was spent in Van Buren County and he had lived the last eight years in Bonaparte, He farmed and worked for the Iowa Army Ordnance plant in Burlington prior to his retirement. On October 16,1941 he was married to Florence Miller. She remains to cherish his memory. Also surviving are two stepsons, Freddie Miller of Mt. Sterling and Joe Miller of Bonaparte; two step granddaughters; three brothers, Lea of Chapman,Ks, Dwight of Hot Springs, Ar, and Hazen of Ottumwa; nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Beggs was a World War I Army veteran. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, good neighbor and true friend. Funeral services were held April 2,1974 at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Interment with military rites was in the Pittsburg cemetery.
