Willa Marie Hales, daughter of John and Margaret Watkins Hales, was born on a farm near Mt. Sterling, Iowa on April 25, 1893 and passed away in Van Buren Memorial Hospital, Keosaqua, Iowa on May 4, 1972 at the age of 79 years and 9 days. For thirty three years she and her husband made their home on farms that were within a ten mile radius of her birthplace and after his death in 1950 she and Dale continued to live on the farm that had been her home for more than thirty years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, a most loving mother and endeavored to help make a good home and be a true friend.
