Former Keosauqua Woman Dies in California

Mrs. Harold Avery, daughter of W.C. and Jennie Cavitt, was born on a farm near Keosauqua August 28, 1884, and passed away at Oakland, California, June 24, 1947.

She was a graduate of KHS in the year 1901 and taught for many years in this vicinity. She moved to California in 1907 and continued her teaching.

She was united in marriage to Harold Avery on December 9, 1914, and to this union was born two children, William H. of Oakland, Calif., and Elizabeth Henrickson of Upland, Calif. Besides her husband and children, she leaves two grandsons, and three brothers; Jess of Sacramento, Clyde of Los Angeles, and Earl of Stockton. One sister, Mrs. Gertie Alexander, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Broyer funeral home in Roseville, California, on Friday, June 27. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Roseville.
