EMMA K. MILLER

Emma Kritzman Miller was born in Adams county, Illinois, on Feb. 22, 1858, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Guy Gray, near Keosauqua, on Dec. 7, 1924, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 15 days. She was a daughter of Henry and Hannah Kritzman.

On June 22, 1876, she was united in marriage to Jacob Miller at Keosauqua. To this union were born seven children, four dying in infancy, and Walter Chester dying Nov. 26, 1923. The husband and father passed away August 1, 1918.

She leaves to mourn her death a son, Curtis E., of near Pittsburg, and Mrs. Edna M. Gray, of Keosauqua, besides 7 grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Walter Miller and sister, Mrs. Carrie Williams, of Mesa, Ariz.; and brother, John, of near Lebanon.

Mrs. Miller was always a kind neighbor and dear friend. She will long be remembered for the aid and loving sympathy she gave to the sick. She joined the Methodist church and although not a regular attendant she did God's work by helping the needy for which she will surely be rewarded in Heaven.

The past two months she made her home with her daughter, Edna, who was a devoted servant and gave her untiring care throughout the short period of intense suffering.

A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we love is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Pittsburg, with Rev. Lanoue and Rev. Austin in charge. Interment was made in Pittsburg cemetery.
