The Death Angel came into our midst, Friday morning, May the 2nd at 10:30 and took from us Stephen Francis Tackaberry, son of Stephen and Arthela, who preceded him in death. Frank, as he was known to us all, had been ailing for a good many years with asthma but the immediate cause of his death was pneumonia, he took his bed Tuesday evening and wasn't up. Frank attended the Mercantal College at Kirksville, a year and a half and was very much interested in better education. He was an accommodating neighbor and will be greatly missed by us all. He had been a member of the Maconas Lodge for 15 years. The Order took charge of the services and preformed [sic] the last sad writs [sic]. Rev. James Shultz, of Granger, delivered the funeral sermon and the Milton Male Quartette furnished the singing and done credit to themselves, the cause and to the writer who penned the sacred music. Frank leaves to mourn his loss, one sister, one niece and three nephews, besides a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Emma Weekley, daughter and grandson of Farmington; Mrs. J. H. [rest is cut-off]
