MRS. DANIEL FARON
Mrs. Nancy Ann Faron, aged 84 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rena Sullivan, in Ottumwa early Monday morning, March 10, 1913. A large portion of her life was passed in Keosauqua and she was beloved by all who knew her. Following her husband's (Daniel Faron) death here a number of years ago, she went to Ottumwa where she made her home with her daughters. In speaking of her demise, the Ottumwa Courier says:
"Mrs. Faron was born in Ohio, December 24, 1829. In the early '40's the deceased moved with her parents to Iowa and settled on a farm in Van Buren county, where she resided until coming to Ottumwa about fifteen years ago. Mrs. Faron's maiden name was Miss Nancy Ann Swearingen. She was first united in marriage to Henry Houke who was killed in the battle of Ft. Donelson in the civil war. To this union were born three children, two of whom survive. They are Mrs. C. T. Sullivan and David Houke, both of Ottumwa. One daughter Mrs. Wm. M. Reece preceded her in death about four years ago. One sister Mrs. Elizabeth Payton, of Centerville, also survives. In 1870 Mrs. Houke was married to Daniel Faron who died about twelve years ago. She has been a lifelong Methodist and her death will be mourned by scores of friends and neighbors."
Burial will be at Keosauqua later, notice of which will be given to friends.
