OBITUARY OF JAMES MAGORIAN

James Joseph Magorian was born March 7, 1848, in Winchester, Jefferson County, Virginia, and passed away Feb. 1, 1927 , at his home in Cantril, Iowa, aged 78 years, 11 months and 7 days.

In 1877 he was united in marriage to Mary Owens. To this union were born three children, Belle, who passed away several years ago, and Lewis and Harry, both living in Cantril.

He came to Cantril, Iowa, about forty-four years ago and has lived here since with the exception of a few years in Upton, Ia. He was a member of the K. P. Lodge of Cantril.

He has been a member of the Christian church during his residence here.

Mr. Magorian leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two sons, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. W. T. Adams, of Memphis, Mo., and Lucy Beck, of Idaho. His brother, Neal and sister Betty preceded him in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Magorian had lived together for fifty years on Jan. 31, 1927, and had planned to celebrate their anniversary, but on account of his sickness could not.

Mr. Magorian has been a barber in Cantril for a number of years and his familiar face will be greatly missed in his place of business as well as in the home.

The services were held at the Christian church Thursday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. L. A. Norton, assisted by Rev. A. M. Smith of the M. E. church. A quartette composed of Mrs. Armshay, Miss Donna Wilbourn and Messrs Redmond and Van Fleet, sang some choice selections.

Interment was made in the Cantril cemetery. A large company of friends attended the funeral services.
