WILLIAM L. GLASCOCK

William Lloyd Glascock, son of Eugene Wilson and Ellen Woods Glascock, was born on a farm near Bentonsport, Iowa, Oct. 4, 1874. He grew to manhood, attended school and has lived in this community, and in Bonaparte nearly all of his life. For four or five years he worked in the finishing rooms at the Meek Bros. factory at Bonaparte. He was also a fireman on a railroad out of Eldon for several years. He died Thursday atfernoon [sic], July 23, 1936, aged 61 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He leaves to mourn their loss two brothers and two sisters, Charlie who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia; Alexander, who resides on a farm near Bentonsport; Mrs. Anna Pratt near Stockport; and Mrs. Edna Thomas, living near Bentonsport. Two sisters preceded him in death, Jessie Ethel, having died June 21, 1898, and Jennie Frances July 8, 1927.

A few years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered, since then he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. Edna Thomas. However, he was able to help around the home and do many light duties. He had not been feeling well this summer, but seemed to be as well as usual that morning. He ate his dinner and went outside. Not returning, he was found dead by the side of the well, stricken by a cerebral hemmorhage.

He was always known to his family and friends as Billie. He was ever kind hearted and well liked by everyone. He will be greatly missed by his two sisters, two brothers, one niece, four brothers [sic] and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. H. E. Butler, were held at the Thomas home on Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment was in Bonaparte cemetery.
