Elsie Creath Nagle 1849-1931

Elsie Creath Nagle was born in Knightstown, Ind., July 12, 1849, and departed this life on March 4, 1931, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, in her 82nd year. When she was six years old she came with her parents to Cantril, where she grew to womanhood, and was married to Volney Nagle, the son of a pioneer family of the neighborhood. For many years they lived in Milton, where their ten children were born, two dying in infancy.

The family afterward moved to Red Oak, where they lived for six years, then to New London, where they lived nine years, going to Mt. Pleasant 13 years ago.

Mrs. Nagle was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on August 21, 1920--A son, Frank, died in October, 1927. There remain to cherish the memory of this good mother the following children:

Lee Nagle, Iowa City; Mrs. Jennie Edmondson, Milton; Mrs. Nora Harkness, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Mable Hall, Grand Lake, Colo.; William Nagle, Greeley, Colo.; Mrs. Francis Short, Mt. Pleasant; Albert Nagle, also of Mt. Pleasant. Besides these are the grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
