MRS. S. H. BENNETT

Sarah A. Bennett second daughter of Stephen and Rachel Bennett was born in Bentonsport Iowa, December 30, 1847, and died at her home in Ontraio [sic] California, May 28, 1930, aged 82 years and 5 months. She moved with her parents during childhood to the farm South of Cantril, now known as the Norris farm. Here the early years of her life were spent.

She was married February 17, 1869 to Sylvester H. Bennett. To this union were born four children, al of whom are present today, Mrs. Estella L. Saar, wife of John Saar, Ontario, Calif.; Miss Tessie L. Bennett, also of Ontario; J. R. Bennett of Omaha, Nebr. and N. N. Bennett of Burlington Iowa. She leaves four brothers, Geo. L. Norris, Cantril, Iowa, Des Moines Norris, Ontario, California; F. Frank H. Norris, Genesco, Kansas and Robt. Norris, Burdette, Kansas. Also nine grandchildren all of whom are present except Marguerite Roundtree of Los Angeles, California.

There are 17 great grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal church early in life being one of the pioneer members of the Cantril church. She held her membership in Cantril church until the day of her death. She was also a charter member of the Cantril chapter of the Eastern Star. A member and worker in the Ladies' Aid and other social groups of the church.
