C. C. ROWLEY DIES IN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
C. C. Rowley of Keosauqua died Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 10:10 a.m. in the University hospital at Iowa City. Surgeons were just starting to perform an operation for removal of the larynx because of a malignant growth when death came, cause of same being given as pulmonary embolus.
Mr. Rowley had been in Iowa City several days and a preliminary operation had been performed preparatory to the major operation which was started on Tuesday.
He is the youngest son of the late John W. Rowley and his age was 54 years. He is survived by his widow, Emma Fickey Rowley, one brother, R. B. Rowley and family, also by the members of the family of his brother, Frank W. Rowley, deceased.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at 2:30 at the late home, the Rev. Willson, pastor of the Christian church officiating. Interment in Purdom cemetery.
Mr. Rowley had been for several years in the employ of the T. L. Parish Produce house at Keosauqua. He was a member of the A. O. U. W. lodge.

NOTE: C.C. is said to be Clint C. Rowley, son of John Watson Rowley and Amanda Melvina "Nellie" Thompson. Brother R.B. is Roland B. Rowley.
