Guy H. "Ted" Ross, 81, of Bonaparte died Tuesday, Feb. 9,1999 at the Burlington Medical Center. He was born Sept. 7,1917 in rural Henry County to Arch and Effie Smith Ross. He married Helen Johnson, June 8,1941 in Kahoka, Mo. They lived in Mt. Pleasant and moved to Bonaparte in 1950, where he operated a plumbing and heating business. He served in the US Army airborne trops in Europe during World War II. Surviving are his wife, a son, Michael OF Witchia, Ks; two daughters, Penny Poole of Nevada, Ia and Tammie Allsup of Burlington; six grandchildren and three sisters, Lucille Farr and Hope Hoyt of Salem and Virginia Boyd of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Hoyt, Emmett and Ray Ross. The body has been cremated. The services will be Feb. 26,1999 in the Bonaparte United church and a private burial of the cremains will be in Spencer Cemetery, Stockport. I am not related but am posting for those who may find this person in their family history.
