Arlene M. Gaskell,64, of Mt. Zion died Wednesday Jan. 27,1999, in the emergency room at the Van Buren Co. Hospital, Keosauqua. She was born Feb. 10,1934 at Pittsburg to Roy and Sylvia Boyd Cole. She married John Nedrow. They were divorced. She married Robert A. Gaskell Jan. 8,1965 at Kahoka, Mo. She lived her life in Van Buren county and was employed as a nurses aide at the Good Sam Home, Keosauqua for 11 years and for the last 17 years at the Park View Care Center, Fasirfield. Surviving are her husband, her mother, Sylvia Sampson of Bonaparte, a daughter, Patricia Nedrow of St. Louis, Mo; two sons, Donel Keith Nedrow of California and Todd Gaskell and his wife Diane of Mt. Zion; five grandchildren; seven brothers, Virgil Cole of Keosauqua, Ralph, Roy Jr., La Vene and Richard all of Newton, Harold of Washington state and Lloyd in New Mexico, and a half-sister, Vicki Lane of Stockport. She was preceded in death by her father, her step-father, Gerald Sampson, a son, John Lee Nedrow and a daughter, Tammy Gaskell. Funeral services were held Jan.30, 1999 at Pedricks Funeral Home, Keosauqua and burial was in the Pittsburg Cemetery.
