Pearl L. Chambers, 89, a lifelong resident of Bonaparte, died June 22,2001, at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital, Ft. Madison. Born Dec. 16,1911, in Bonaparte, she was the daughter of Glen and Anna Houser Davis. She married Fred Chambers in 1930, in Bonaparte. She was a graduate of Bonaparte High School and worked as a waitress at Hunter's Cafe, Ward's Cafe, and Ben's Cafe in Bonaparte and at the Fairfield Glove Factory in Bonaparte. She was a charter member of the Rainbow Girls in Bonaparte and a member of the Bonaparte United Church. Survivors include three sons, Glen of Rockport, Tx, Fred of Muscatine and Bill of Bonaparte; two daughters, Vivian Douthart of Bonaparte and Virginia Taylor of Burlington; 12 grandchildren, 24 greaat grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren; two sisters, Mabel Carter of Keosauqua and Ida Snyder of Des Moines; one niece and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and three grandchildren. The funeral was June 25 at the Bonaparte United Church, with burial in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
