John A. Fischer,68, of Lebanon passed away Tuesday at the Ottumwa Hospital, following a two week illness. He was born Oct. 2,1884, near Lebanon, the son of Charles and Phoebe Fischer. He was married Sept. 21,1911, to June Moore. For 35 years the couple had lived at their present home. He is survived by his wife June, one brother, Clarence and a sister, Mrs. Hollis Moore, both of near Milton. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Townsend and Mrs. Mary Black and two brothers Henry and Ed Fischer. Funeral services were held Thursday athe their residence. Burial was in the Lebanon cemetery. (Date of the paper is July 4,1953)
