Clayton Wilkening

Former Milton resident, Clayton Wilkening, died Dec. 25, 1994 in Marietta, Georgia. Known to friends as "Pancho", he was born Jan. 4, 1921 in Jackson, Missouri, the eldest son of A.C. and Carolyn Schulter Wilkening. The family moved to Milton in 1936, where A.C. Wilkening was school supreintendent until his death in September, 1940. Clayton was graduated from Milton High School with the class of 1939. A veteran of WW2, he married Martha Ann Hipp, an airline stewardess, in Texas. Later they were permanently located in Marietta where he was a commerical artist with Lockheed Company. Surviviors include his wife, a son and daughter and two brothers, Don of Lansing, Michigan and Bill of Iowa City. He was preceeded in death by his parents and two brothers, Linn in 1957 and Jerry in 1983.
