Mrs. Nellie D. Dever, 73 of 1001 Rider Street, Iowa City, died at her home Sunday afternoon, July 24 after a short illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at the Donohue Mortuary, with the Rev. George W. Paterson officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Dever was born Oct. 5, 1892, at Bonaparte, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis Saddler. She moved to Iowa City in 1921.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert P. (Violet) Ballard of Iowa City; one son, Verle L. Jameson of Norfork, Va.; a sister, Katie Scott of LaHabra, Calif.; one brother, Ross Saddler of Fort Madison; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.Unknown 1966 newspaper clipping
