Carrie Townsend, daughter of Charles and Phoebe Fischer, was born Oct. 12,1871 in Clark County, Mo and passed away at the hospital in Mt. Pleasant, Ia, July 13,1936, at the age of 64 years, 9 months and 2 days. Mrs. Townsend had been failing in health for the last 18 months. She was united in marriage to Rockey Townsend, Feb.15,1903. Having no children of their own they adopted a daughter, Leota, who has been a great comfort to them through the years. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband; daughter, Leota; son-in-law, Glen Campbell and a granddaughter, Roberta; one sister, Mrs. Helen Moore and four brothers, Henry,Edward, John and Clarence Fischer, all of Milton; and a host of many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and one sister, Mary Black. She will be greatly missed by here family and friends. The funeral was held in Milton, July 17. Interment was in the Sunnyside Cemetery.
