Munz - At his home near Willits Saturday evening, May 26 at 11:30pm, John George Munz, aged 66 years 1 month and 4 days.
Mr Munz was born in Lustnou by Tuebinger in Koenigreich, Wuertenberg, Germany, April 29, 1822, and came to America in 1852. In 1853 he was united in marriage with Christina Magdalena Kemmler, by who he had 7 children two of who are dead. Of these two, one was the wife of Rev J.C. Lutz of Newton, Iowa. Three sons and two daughters are living, two of them near Willits and one in Nebraska. Mr. Munz died from the effects of his fall from his horse which we mentioned last week.
The funeral occured Monday at 2 o'clock from the Indian Creek Church, Rev. C. Emig officiating. Although it was raining a large concourse followed the remains to the church burying ground where his remains were laid to rest.
Prof. F. Munz, a nephew of the deceased, of Mt Pleasant was present at the funeral.
