Ross Edward Black, son of Chas. and Mary Fisher Black, was born Feb.23,1903, in Van Buren county and departed this life May 2,1973, at Granby,Mo, at the age of 70. A retired farmer, he spent his life in Van Buren County,the past year having been spent at Granby. On April 29,1934, he was married to Thelma Cramer, at Des Moines. She remains to cherish his memory, along with his step mother Mrs. Bertha Black of Stockport, three sons, Ronald of Freeburn,Ky; Raymond of Chesapeake,Va; and James of Birmingham; three daughters, Dorothy Davison of Granby,Mo; Mary Jarvis of Stanwood, Wa; and Marge Jones of Mountain Lake Terrace, Wa; two brothers, Edgar of Ranger, Tx and Robert of Santa Rosa, Ca; two sisters, Florence Carlson of Memphis, Mo and Helen Moore of Ames; and nine grandchildren. A sister, Janet preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband and father, whose primary interests were his home and family. Funeral services were held May 6,1973, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton.
