Martin Ewing, son of William J. and Nancy Rupe Ewing, was born Jan.6,1905 near Mt. Zion and departed this life April 14,1983, at the Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home, Bloomfield, at the age of 78. On Aug.20,1927, he married Florence Grade in Ottumwa. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Florence Hervey, Keosauqua, Ruth Clark, Festus, Mo and Reva McRoy, Dexter, Mo; two sons William of Garden City, Ks and Lee of Fairfield; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother Emmett of Bonaparte. An infant daughter, five sisters, and five brothers preceded him in death. Most of Mr. Ewing's life was spent in the Keosauqua area. Funeral services were held April 18, at the Pedrick Funeral home in Keosauqua. Interment was in the Forbes Cemetery, north of Keosauqua.
