George Edward Shobe, better known as Ed Shobe, was born May 8th at Downing, Mo to John and Elizabeth Snider Shobe. He passed away Feb. 17,1981, at the Bloomfield Manor, in Bloomfield at the age of 96 years and 9 months. He married Mabel Kritzman Feb.4,1914. To this union was born two daughters, Elizabeth Blount and Helen Hoy of Ottumwa and one son, Robert of Milton. He was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters, and four brothers. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, one son, one sister, Lena of Lancaster, Mo; four granddaughters, one great grandson and three great granddaughters, together with a host of friends and relatives. Services were held Feb. 19 at the Troy Methodist Church and burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery at Milton.
