Newton Vorice Lowe, son of John and Sarah Lowe, was born in Lafayette, Indiana, October 1, 1875, and departed from this life July 30, 1949, at a hospital in Burlington, Iowa, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 29 days.

Early in the 1900's he came to Iowa where he met and married Carrie Rockefellow. To this union four children were born, all of whom survive. They are Vorice of Burlington, Percy of Bonaparte, Elvin of Humboldt, and Mrs. Lillian Hornbaker of Burlington.

He was preceeded in death by his wife in November 1947. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Larry, Karen, Richard and Mary Ann Lowe, Glenn Wilson and Nancy Ann Hornbaker.

Funeral Services were held at the Bonaparte Baptist church Monday, August 1 with Rev. Alfred Trenery officiating. Interment in Bonaparte cemetery.
