Carrie Rockefellow, daughter of DeWitt and Mary Rockefellow was born near Bonaparte, Iowa, Sept. 15, 1876, and passed away at her home in Bonaparte, Nov. 24, 1947, at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 9 days.
Her entire life was spent in the Bonaparte community. On April 8, 1905, she was united in marriage to Newton V. Lowe, and to this union four children were born, three sons, Vorice of Burlington, Percy of Bonaparte, Elvin of Kalamazoo, Michigan and a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Hornbaker of Burlington.
She is survived by her husband and children, five grandchildren, Glenn Wilson, Larry, Karen, Richard and Mary Ann Lowe, and one sister, Mrs. Alice McCay of Kalamazoo, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Walter, and two sisters, Mrs. Belle McComb and Mrs. Loretta Mankin.
She will long be remembered by her kindness and willingness to do many deeds for the benefit of others. Her highest pupose in life was to serve her family and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Bonaparte Baptist church, Wednesday, Nov. 26 with J. S. Ellis in charge. Interment in Bonaparte cemetery.
