The funeral of Mrs. Mary Jemison,81, who died Thursday in Memorial Hospital will be held Saturday at the Keosauqua Christian Church in Keosauqua. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery. Mrs. Jemison was the daughter of William and Nancy Rupe Ewing and was born near Mt. Sterling, May 30,1883. She was married April 8,1903, to Albert Jemison of Keosauqua, who died Feb. 5,1947. Survivors are one son, H.G. Jemison of Independence,Mo; a daughter, Mrs. John Stegelman of Keosauqua; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves four brothers, Ben Ewing on Mt. Zion, Clarence Ewing of Pittsburg, Martin Ewing of Garden City,Ks, and Emmett Ewing of Bonaparte, and a sister, Iva Ewing of Mt. Zion. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
