Thomas S. Warner, 83, of Stockport, died early August 20, 1997, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa
He was born January 24, 1914, near Keosauqua to Charles A. and Ethel A. Hawbaker Warner.
He graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1931 and from Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa.
Tom enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force and served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. He worked for Iowa State University Extension Service, and for the Sylvania Co. in New York before returning to the Stockport area to farm.
He was a member of Elvin E. Cecil Post No. 147, American Legion, Stockport.
Surviving are three sisters, Ardith Derry of Eugene, Oregon and Kitty Schliffke and Frances Brady, both of Omaha, Nebraska, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Warner.
Services were held Friday, August 22, 1997, 2 P.M. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, Iowa, with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating.
Interment was at Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport. Military Rites were conducted by the Elvin E. Cecil Post 147, American Legion, of Stockport, Iowa.
