Death of Mrs. Rachel Workman

Thursday of last week, Aug. 26, 1921, Mrs. Rachel Workman, whose maiden name was Harper, died at her home in Fairfield.

Nearly half a century ago she was married to Oliver Perry Workman of near Stockport. (there was no Stockport Then), and there they spent their early married life. Her husband died May 29, 1877, in Yuba County, California and is buried in Marysville, California, where they lived at the time. Both were splendid people, like all that family of Workmans were and are.

The children that survive are, Richard (R.A) and Eugene Workman of Stockport and Mrs. Jesse Fleming of Fairfield. Her exact age we do not know but would think it was about 75.

Funeral services were held last Friday p.m. at the Christian Church in Fairfield. Eld. Putnam, of the Stockport and Big Cedar Christian Churches, was in charge. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa.
