Virginia L. Pratt, daughter of Ed and Amy Philips Veatch, was born October 13, 1919 at Stockport and died Thursday night, August 24, 1989 at University Hospitals, Iowa City, at the age of 69.

She grew up in the Stockport community, graduated from Stockport High School and had lived a number of years in the Eldora and Marshalltown communities. She married Floyd Pratt May 1, 1949 at Kahoka, Missouri.

Surviving are her husband, Floyd; a son, Floyd Richard Pratt of Marshalltown; a daughter, Lorene Massa of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Warren Veatch of Stockport. Two brothers, David Veatch and Raymond Conyers, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 27, 1989 in the Stockport United Methodist Church with Rev. Sara Malone, pastor and Rev. Paul Biacotto officiating. Interment was in Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport.

A memorial was established for the American Heart Association.

Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua was in charge of arrangements.
