Chester E. Scott, age 80, of Rochelle, Illinois died on Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at Rochelle Health Care West in Rochelle,Illinos.

He was born on June 12, 1920, in Bentonsport the son of Benjamin M. and Dottie M. Randolph Scott.

He married Grace C. Stafford on November 9, 1939, in Kahoka, Missouri. He was an insurance agent and worked for Country Companies for 19 years from 1968 to 1987. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle, Tebala Shrine, Freeport Consistory, Scottish Rites and a member of the Horicon Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ziller and a great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janis Anderson-Lites of Chicago, Illinois and Diane Drueger of Joshua, Texas; two sisters, Eileen Brown of Forsyth, Illinois and Edith L. Foggy of Bloomington, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 7, with the Reverend Dr. John Hamilton and Reverend Dr. James Tilley officiating. Burial was Sunday, October 8 at Bonaparte Cemetery in Bonaparte, with Reverend Charles McCracken officiating.

Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle, Illinois was in charge of the arrangements.
