Anne E. Henkle, daughter of Conrad and Laura I. Henkle, was born at Knoxville, Ill., Aug. 6, 1868. Her parents moved to Bonaparte in 1870. Here she attended the public schools, later going to Des Moines where she took a course in business training and soon was holding a responsible position with a Chicago firm having a branch office in Des Moines. In 1893 she was transferred to their main office in Chicago, where she remained until her marriage to Mr. Charles Frederick Schneider of Chicago on May 7, 1902.
They lived in that city continuously until coming back to her home town in 1934.
She leaves to mourn her passing a devoted husband; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie M. Hines, Mrs. Brooks Collins and Mr. Chas. B. Collins, her brother-in-law; an aunt, Mrs. Margaret C. Meek and numerous cousins.
Mrs. Schneider had a lovely disposition and her charming manner endeared her to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a wide circle of friends in Chicago and in her home town and all are sorrowing over her passing, which occurred the morning of Dec. 13, 1942, at Laughlin hospital, Kirksville, Mo., whither she had been taken about two weeks previous.
Funeral services were held at the late home in Bonaparte Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Sieck, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment in Bonaparte cemetery.
