Caroline Roberts, wife of D. J. Roberts was born in String Prairie, Lee county, Iowa, June 19th, 1865, died March 16th, 1889, age 34 years, 8 months, 24 days.

After a married life of little more than 8 years, she goes to rest, leaving a husband and two little motherless children to mourn her loss. A quiet affectionate disposition made her loved and respected by all who knew her.

She had been sick for several days but it was thought that she was much better, and her death was a shock and surprise to all the friends. We commend her spirit to our God who is faithful and just.

The funeral services took place at the home in Bonaparte, Iowa Sunday, March 17, 1889, at 4 p.m. Her remains were laid in the Bonaparte cemetery.
