Byron F. Meek, son of B. F. and Isabel Meek, was born in Bonaparte, Iowa, April 13, 1904 and passed away on Jan. 6, 1957 in Streator, Ill. He was graduated from the Bonaparte High School and spent most of his early life in and around Bonaparte. For a short time he was employed in Davenport, Iowa, going from there to Streator where he worked as a linotype operator, and remained there until his death.
In December, 1927, he was united in marriage with Margaret Warner, who, with one nephew, Harold Meek, and a host of relatives and friends remain to mourn their loss.
He was a member of the Typographical Union No. 328, Streator, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 10 at the Bonaparte Baptist church, Rev. Jerald Beltz, officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte cemetery.
