Funeral services of James B. Slinn were held Tuesday afternoon at his home in Bonaparte, Gerald J. Judd, pastor of Presbyterian church officiating. Interment in Bonaparte cemetery.

James Bromley Slinn was born Sept. 1, 1856, and died July 20, 1941 at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 19 days after a serious illness of only a few days.

He was united in marriage with Lulu George of Bonaparte and to this union was born one son, Hubert, who with his wife and son, James, also one brother, John of Peoria, Ill., are the surviving members of the family.

The latter years of Mr. Slinn's life were spent in Bonaparte, making his home in what was well known as the Park Hotel formerly operated by members of the George family.

Mr. Slinn was an artist, inventor and musician Several patents on file in the patent office at Washington, D.C., bear his name.

He has attended most of the world's fairs of the past sixty years as an exhibitor, concessionaire or artist.

He was much interested in airplane designing and flying machines, also in the manufacture of flying toys.

As a painter of pictures he filled many large orders of paintings of scenery and backgrounds or murals for large city stores.
