Sarah Jane Parker 1852-1908

Sarah Jane Parker, youngest daughter of Edward and Sarah Parker was born in Bonaparte Feb. 22, 1852. In her youth she went with her parents to Lee county, since which time she has resided near Dover of said county.

She was a member of the Methodist church and one of the prominent teachers of this part of the state, having taught over thirty terms of school.

Death claimed her May 25, 1908. She leaves three brothers and three sisters: Sidney [or Sydney] Parker of Ottumwa; George Parker of West Grove; Wm. E. Parker of Bloomfield; Mrs. Harriet Roush of Lamoni; Mrs. Emma Bridge of Bonaparte, and Mrs. Mary McDonald of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Services were held at the grave, Rev. Kemp officiating, after which she was laid to rest beside her parents in the Bonaparte cemetery.
