J. T. B. Cresap Dead

Word was received here last week of the death of J. T. B. Cresap which occurred at noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Friend in Eldon, where he had gone to partake of dinner. He had been in his usual good health up to the last moment and was at the table, surrounded by happy faces when the summons came.

Mr. Cresap was at one time a respected and prominent citizen of Bonaparte, later moving with his family to Eldon, where the home has since been made. Mr. Cresap was in the city some few weeks ago and we enjoyed a visit with him. He was glad to get back and renew acquaintance and stated that he expected to return soon again.

The body was laid to rest at Eldon on Thursday and several from here were present at the services.

Deceased was the father of Dr. Cresap of this city, and a cousin of John, Robt. and Dan Cresap, also of Bonaparte. He was 73 years of age and was born in Tennessee.
