Nancy Jane Deborn was born near Eldon in Salt Creek township on Sept. 23rd, 1868, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Parr, on Monday, Feb. 24th, 1919, age 50 years, 5 months, and 1 day. Her father and mother, Gilbert and Savina Deborn, preceded her in death.

In Dec. 1886, she was married to Nathaniel Glasgow. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Carrie Parr and Ruth of Bonaparte. Mr. And Mrs. Glasgow lived for a number of years near Eldon; one year was spent in Missouri and about 12 years near Troy in Davis county.

Mrs. Glasgow has been in poor health since March, 1918. Last September she was taken to her daughter's home to be near the children and receive their kindly care. Her last illness was about three weeks.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, two daughters, Carrie and Ruth, her step-mother, Mrs. Annie Deborn; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Glasgow, Dacoma, Okla.; Mrs. Ida Furtney, Water Valley, Ark.; Mrs. Louise Lanman of near Eldon; Mrs. Nettie Eiston, West Branch, Ia., and a brother, Joe Deborn, Eldon, Ia., two half-sisters, Mrs. Annie Fite, Eldon; and Mrs. Clara Hemingway, West Branch, Iowa; and one half-brother, Clarence Deborn of Eldon. One half-brother, Hiram, preceded her in death; and three grandchildren, Evelyn, Ethel and James Parr. Besides these there are numerous loved ones and friends.

About 36 years ago Mrs. Glasgow united with the Christian church. About 8 years ago she united with the M.E. Church at Troy. Mrs. Glasgow was a good woman, a faithful helpmate and a loving mother. She was never complaining but always cheerful and kind.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the home of K. Roy Parr in Bonaparte conducted by the Rev. C. H. Boos of Troy, assisted by Rev. Seeds of Bonaparte. Burial in the Bonaparte cemetery.
