Emil Noske 1859-1948

Emil Noske, son of Gustave and Johanna Noske, was born in Farmington, Iowa, March 19, 1859, and departed this life July 23, 1948, at 7:45 P.M. at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 4 days.

He came to Bonaparte at the age of 16 years and went into the harness business with his brother William, and continued in this business until his accident, suffering a fractured hip on May 24, of this year.

Noske Brothers were a well known business firm, having been dealers and manufacturers of harness since 1875. Mr. Noske learned the trade from his father who was in business in Farmington. He was the oldest businessman of this city.

When a young man he was confirmed and united with the Evangelical Lutheran St. Johannes Church at Farmington

He was united in marriage in August, 1889, to Louisa Naumann, who survives him. To this union were born six children, Mrs. Lynnie Jenkens, of West Des Moines, Fred E. Noske, Mrs. Ruth Meeks, Harry W. Noske, Mrs. Helen Cocherell, and Emil G. Noske, Jr., of Bonaparte, who survive.

He is also survived by his brother, Gustave of Farmington, and a sister, Mrs. Bertie Purcell of Excelsior Springs, Mo., six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. His parents and three brothers, William, Albert, and Otto preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held from the Bonaparte Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. John S. Ellis officiating. Interment in Bonaparte Cemetery.
