Thomas F. Gibbs was born in Columbus Indiana, April 12,1843 and died at his home at Bonaparte,Feb. 28,1917, aged 73 years 10 months and 16 days. he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gibbs, of Indiana who came west in early pioneer days and settled near Bonaparte, where the deceased has resided the greater part of his life. He was married twice. To the first union was born five children, two daughters and three sons, Chas. A. of Galesburg, Il; John H and George A. of Ottumwa, Mrs. George Ricker of Tulsa, Ok and Mrs. Herman Bremhorst of Ottumwa. To the second union were also born five children, four daughters and one son; Samuel, of Odebolt,Ia, Mrs. Roy Parker of Missouri, Mrs. Clarence Holmes of Bonaparte, Sadie who has been at work in Illinois and could not be reached by wire and Margaret at home. Mr. Gibbs leaves also one brother, Daniel, of Luray,Mo. Mr. Gibbs had been in his usual health wheb after a day of labor he seemed to have laid down to rest and fallen asleep never to awaken again, heart trouble being the probable cause of his death.
