Julia Mae, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Zachau was born near Douds, Oct. 29,1888, and departed this life at an Encino, Ca hospital Oct. 29,1958, at the age of 70. She had been failing in health for the last six months and seriously ill for only a few days. She was united in marriage to Elmer Brown and to this union was born one son, Floyd, and one daughter, Freda. Mr. Brown passed away in 1920. Later she married W.A. Kerr, who passed away in 1955. Remaining to mourn her passing are her son, Floyd of Encino, Ca; and her daughter, Freda of Keosauqua; two grandchildren Janet Quaile of Hollywood,Ca and Eric Brown of Encino,Ca; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Greene of Ottumwa and Mrs. Jennie Cole of Cantril; and one brother, Will of Cantril; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Nov. 2,1958, at the Methodist church in Douds. Interment was in the Leando Cemetery.
