MURPHY, DIAL, LEACH

Harry Murphy died at his home in Bonaparte on Saturday morning, May 16, 1914, after an illness of several years and much suffering. He has been unable to walk unassisted for several months and was in such a serious condition recently that he was anxious for death to come.

Harry Emmet Murphy, elder son of Mrs. Mary M. Murphy, was born at Bonaparte, Iowa, January 1st, 1867, about 47 years ago and has resided here ever since, excepting about nine years spent at Butte City, Montana, at which place he was first taken sick. He died at his home in the presence of his mother and some friends Saturday morning at a quarter after eight o'clock.

He is survived by his mother, three sisters, who attended the funeral; Mrs. J. H. Dial and Miss Trilla, both of St. Louis; Mrs. E. E. Leach of Ottumwa; and an only brother, Minor L. Murphy of Lacon, Illinois.

One daughter could not be present, Mrs. N. F. Leach, Alton, Illinois; but her daughter, Miss Fern Leach was present.

Three sisters, one brother and the father passed away several years ago. The funeral was held at the Baptist church, of which Mrs. Murphy is a member, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Hughes officiating, and the remains were laid to rest at the Bonaparte cemetery.
