Mrs. Frances Ann Custer Wilson died at Mt. Pleasant hospital, Friday, Oct. 22, 1915, aged 64 years, 7 mo. And 15 day.

Mrs. Wilson was a daughter of John L. Custer, for many years a resident of Harrisburg township and of Bonaparte. After the death of her mother in 1885 she kept house for her father in Bonaparte until his death in 1898. She was thus left alone until her marriage with Wm. T. Wilson in 1903. Upon his death in 1908 she was again left alone and dependent upon her own resources.
She struggled bravely on, making her own living till the burden became too great and her health finally gave way. She complained of having stomach trouble for which it seemed no relieve could be provided.

In Feb. 1914 she was committed to the County Hospital at Keosauqua. After the fire a few weeks later, she, with others, was transferred to the State Hospital at Mt. Pleasant.

Friday morning, Oct. 22, death came to her relief. The body was shipped to Bonaparte and buried at the side of her husband in the Bonaparte cemetery Saturday afternoon. Many friends attended the funeral. Kind hands laid her to rest after the Baptist pastor of Farmington conducted a short service at the grave, from the test: “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord”, Rev. 14:13

She leaves one brother to mourn her departure, C.L. Custer of Rocky Ford, Colorado, the only remaining member of the family. Early in life Mrs. Wilson put her trust in her Savior and became a member of the Harrisburg Baptist church and later of the Bonaparte church. The remaining brother, who could not be present at the funeral, is sincerely grateful to the many friends for their sympathy and kindness in this hour of his sorrow.
