Mrs. Georgia Meek, 91, of Bonaparte died Tuesday, July 30 at 1:40 P.M. In Van Buren County Memorial Hospital at Keosauqua after a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 28, 1876 in Bonaparte, the daughter of Thomas Wesley and Nancy Ann Meek Boyer.

She married Carl E. Meek on May 12, 1902. Most of her life was spent in Bonaparte. She graduated from Bonaparte High School and she assisted her father in his store. She also assisted her husband, Carl, when he was in the post office. She was an active member of P.E.O. and a charter member of Van Buren county Chapter of the D.A.R., and a former member of Magnolia Chapter O.E.S.

Her husband died in January of 1951.

Her only survivor is a niece, Helen Bradshaw Dittman, of Crystal Lake, Il.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m., at the Bonaparte Presbyterian Church with Rev. Denley Ganfield officiating. Burial will be in the Bonaparte cemetery. The body is at the Carl Wilson home in Bonaparte. Miller's Home for Funerals at Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
